Especially guns relying on HE and Inciendary damage(and the ones relying on said HE and Inciendary damage the most ARE the german mineshell firing cannons!) will have trouble doing lethal damage like this. And even if there isn't any armor in the way, your shots will still have to go through the most structure to reach vital parts if you fire from directly behind. there is a reason why the armor on most bombers and fighters is placed to provide protection from exactly that angle of attack.
Also, every plane tends to take a lot more punishment when fired upon from directly behind. Or simply not firing at their set convergence distance.įor example, if you sit on the dead 6 of a plane at 400 meters with your convergence set to 300 meters a lot of your shots wont even hit(remember, most of the rounds aren't tracers, you don't actually see them). Most problems people have with certain guns comes from simply using them the wrong way. They consistently dish out killshots when I use them.
